The Relationship between Folic Acid and Hair Loss

If you are going through excessive hair loss, increased amounts of iron along with B-vitamins, particularly folic acid and vitamin B12 should be taken.

Folic Acid and Hair Growth

If you suffer from hair loss that is induced by lack of vitamins to make hair grow, then intake of vitamin B complex and folic acid supplementation is best for you. A dosage of 400 micrograms in men and 200 micrograms of folic acid vitamins for women is sufficient enough to promote hair growth.

Remember though that folic acid supplementation for hair loss does not work overnight. It takes some time for hair to grow so you should expect some time for results to be seen. It usually takes about three to four months before you can notice a significant difference. Also, make sure that you take folic acid supplements as directed as mega doses might potentially become harmful to your health.
